Yes. The needle threader can be used on front to back threading needles as well as side to side threading needles. When threading from front to back, you will have to enter the eye of the needle at an angle from the back depending on the structure of your sewing machine. Another option is to remove the needle, thread it, and then re-secure it in the sewing machine.
For hand sewing: Place the needle on the hook. Place the thread over the hook creating a loop with about an inch of thread hanging from the hook. Gently remove the needle from the hook, sliding it over the thread. The needle should be threaded at the end of this movement.
For sewing machine: Insert the hook into the eye of the needle. Catch the thread on the hook. Gently pull the hook and thread through the eye of the needle. The needle should be threaded at the end of this movement.
